At 5C Energy, we’re proud to be part of the clean energy movement that’s shaping the future of transportation in Massachusetts. We’ve been selected by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to participate in their Medium- and Heavy-Duty (MHD) Vehicle Mobile Charging Program, a major step forward in expanding EV charging solutions for commercial fleets.
This program, along with MassCEC’s On-Street Charging initiative, is all about making electric vehicle charging more accessible and equitable across the state. Whether it’s for local communities or commercial fleets, the goal is the same: build a cleaner, smarter future for everyone.
Advancing EV Charging Solutions for Fleets Like Ours
Medium- and heavy-duty vehicles account for just 3% of all vehicles in Massachusetts but contribute 20% of on-road emissions. That’s why fleet electrification matters—and that’s where we come in.
With support from MassCEC, 5C Energy is deploying mobile EV charging solutions to help bring electric vehicles to our fleet. These flexible, semi-permanent chargers don’t require expensive infrastructure upgrades. Instead, they allow businesses like ours to start making the shift to electric without the delays or high upfront costs.
Thanks to the program, we’ll receive:
- Mobile EV charging equipment
- Up to $50,000 per vehicle to support the purchase of electric fleet vehicles (up to four total)
This funding helps us move faster, cleaner, and more efficiently. We’re not just cutting emissions—we’re setting an example for other fleet owners looking to make the switch.
Why Mobile EV Charging Matters
Mobile charging systems offer real-world flexibility. These units can be deployed where they’re needed most and scaled as demand grows. They’re ideal for companies that want to begin electrifying their fleet today, without waiting on infrastructure upgrades or new construction.
At 5C Energy, we’re excited to show how mobile EV charging solutions can work in the field—and we’re ready to help others do the same.
Expanding EV Charging Solutions Across Massachusetts
MassCEC is also working with 36 municipalities through its On-Street Charging Program. These towns and cities are receiving planning support or direct installation of curbside and pole-mounted EV charging stations.
The combined impact of these programs is clear: more access to charging for renters, small businesses, and fleet owners across the Commonwealth.
Join the Movement Toward Clean Transportation
Being part of this statewide initiative means more than just upgrading vehicles. It’s about creating a cleaner, more connected future for all. At 5C Energy, we’re committed to leading that charge—literally.
We believe every community and every business deserves access to EV charging solutions that work. And with the right support, the transition to electric vehicles can be smart, simple, and sustainable.
